The Clerk of the Circuit Court is one of the most operationally critical offices in Frederick County's justice system. This role requires a legal advocate who understands the law, knows the courts, and has spent years earning the trust of the people who depend on them. I believe I’m the right person for the position of Frederick County Clerk. Frederick County deserves a Clerk who knows these courts from the inside and will show up every day, working hard and caring throughout the process. I am committed to being that advocate for our community.
Meet Megan
About Me
I have spent more than twenty years immersed in the legal and judicial life of Frederick County, not as an outsider looking in, but as someone deeply involved in the community. As a legal advocate, I have stood alongside victims of domestic violence, served as a District Court Commissioner, and currently work at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where principles of fairness and access to justice are truly practiced. My commitment to this community is paralleled by my role as a proud mother of three sons, all graduates of Frederick High School. Frederick County isn't just where I work; it's my home, and as Megan LeRoux, I will continue to advocate for justice within it.
Experience Matters
My credentials align perfectly with the demands of the Frederick County Clerk's office: a degree in Legal Studies, advanced training from the Institute for Court Management, and two decades of hands-on experience across various sectors of the legal system. As a legal advocate for domestic violence victims, I recognized that each case file represents a person whose life hinges on the system functioning properly. In my role as a District Court Commissioner, I made critical decisions under pressure—exactly the kind of judgment that the Clerk's office requires daily. Currently, at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, I approach my work with an unwavering belief in ensuring that the justice system serves everyone, not just those with resources.
Frederick County deserves a Clerk who understands these courts intimately. I am Megan LeRoux, and I am ready to serve.
