Meet Megan

About Me

I have spent more than twenty years immersed in the legal and judicial life of Frederick County, not as an outsider looking in, but as someone who has worked, served, and advocated from within it. I've stood alongside victims of domestic violence as a legal advocate, serving my community as a District Court Commissioner, and currently working at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where fairness and access to justice aren't just ideals they're daily practice.

I'm proud mother of three sons, all graduates of Frederick High School. Frederick County isn't just where where I work, it's my home.

Experience Matters

My credentials speak directly to what this office demands: a degree in Legal Studies, advanced training through the Institute for Court Management, and two decades of hands-on experience across multiple sectors of the legal system. As a legal advocate for domestic violence victims, I learned that behind every case file is a person whose life depends on the system working correctly. As a District Court Commissioner, I made consequential decisions under pressure exactly the kind of judgment the Clerk's office requires every single day. In my current work at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, I show up each day with an unwavering belief that the justice system must work for everyone, not just those with resources.

Frederick County deserves a Clerk who knows these courts from the inside. I already do and I'm ready to serve.
